The Baylor Bears got an early jump on the upcoming coaching carousel in college football, and already, certain candidates are lining up in hopes of being considered for the job.
One former Baylor legend is among them.
On Monday, former quarterback Robert Griffin III, the only Heisman Trophy winner in Baylor history, made it known that he would like to be considered for the job as the program looks to replace Dave Aranda, who was fired on Sunday following a second-straight loss.
"If Baylor wants to get back to winning and have a university that isn’t just respectable on the football field, but the fans can be proud of, they need people who know what it looks like to win at Baylor," Griffin III said on the Dan Patrick Show.

Griffin, who was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, had a legendary career in Waco, throwing for 10,366 yards, 78 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions in his four years, while also rushing for an additional 2,254 yards and 33 touchdowns.
"I would 100% be interested," Griffin continued. "I talked with the athletic director, who is a guy in Doug McNamee that knows what it looks like to win at Baylor, know how you have to win at Baylor and recruit to Baylor to make those things happen.”
Since his NFL career with the Washington Redskins ended, Griffin has had a respectable stint as a color analyst for college football games, first working with ESPN, but later joining FOX Sports.
