Few players have hit the ground running at the wide receiver position as well as Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith. He's led the Big Ten in receiving yards in each of his first two seasons, and led the conference in receiving touchdowns as a freshman.
Smith might not seem like he has much left to prove heading into his junior year, but he's clearly reaching for the history books after speaking with The Journey Media recently.
When asked what he wants to accomplish this season, Smith brought up trying to beat the numbers another star college wideout put up a few years ago.
"I want year three to be like crazy, like I want to be like some DeVonta Smith type senior season, something like that," the Ohio State star said.
DeVonta Smith scored 23 touchdowns
and posted 1,856 yards in a scintillating senior campaign with Alabama in 2020. The Crimson Tide also won the national championship that year, which is something Jeremiah Smith would undoubtedly also love in addition to the challenge of rewriting history on an individual level.
