This game features a matchup of two first-year head coaches trying to establish a culture and foundation at their programs. So far, Eric Morris has done a better job of that at Oklahoma State, but this game will go a long way in determining whether the Cowboys are for real.
Jimmy Rogers is also trying to make sure his Cyclones are able to get back to the level they played at under Matt Campbell, but Oklahoma State is the better team. Even on the road, Oklahoma State should win this game if they are to be taken seriously as a potential CFP team.

Oklahoma State vs. Iowa State prediction, pick:
Of course, the Cowboys are
led by quarterback Drew Mestemaker, who has vaulted to the top of NFL draft boards as the possible first signal caller off the board this spring. Mestemaker has had a brilliant season, as he leads the Big 12 in touchdown passes with 20 and in yards with 2,326.
Iowa State actually comes into this game last in the Big 12 in passing yards as a team, which limits their ability to respond to quick strikes against a team like the Cowboys. If the Cyclones are going to pull off the upset, running back Aiden Flora will need to be front and center. He's rushed for 716 yards and six touchdowns so far this season.
While this game does have some upset potential built in, the Cowboys have the best player on the field and should win, but it would not be surprising if Iowa State covered the spread.
Prediction: Oklahoma State 34, Iowa State 26
Best Bet: Iowa State +9.5
