One of the most interesting teams in the power conference ranks begins its season on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Eric Morris era begins at Oklahoma State with a matchup at Tulsa as the Cowboys look to avenge an early season loss to the Golden Hurricane during last year's doomed campaign. With a roster loaded with transfers — including many from North Texas — this could be one of the most improved teams in the nation this year.
Tulsa, meanwhile, didn't have much success last year after that win, finishing 4-8, but it's hoping to take a step forward this fall. That starts with an in-state showdown.

It's easy to be excited about Oklahoma State entering the season, particularly on offense as the Cowboys add the battery of Drew Mestemaker and Caleb Hawkins, one of the best quarterback/running back duos in the Group of Six last year. Elsewhere, this roster is also almost entirely portaled and should be better, but it's hard to say by how much.
Tulsa returns some veterans and adds a few former power conference pieces like ex-Auburn running back Damari Alston. That may have been enough to beat the Cowboys we saw last year, but I think this team could make some noise in Year 1.
