The Jimmy Rogers era at Iowa State is off to a mixed start. The Cyclones
nearly pulled off the upset on the road at Iowa a couple of weeks ago, but came up just a bit short. Iowa State fell into a hole last week against Utah in the first half and could not dig out of it. Earlier this season, the Cyclones throttled Bowling Green and Southeast Missouri State.
This could very well come down to how well Hawkins and Cyclones quarterback Jaylen Raynor protect the football. Raynor threw two picks last week against Utah, while throwing an interception and completing less than 50% of his passes against Oklahoma State.
From a betting perspective, this has all the makings of a stay-away game, but if one must partake, taking the Mountaineers and the points would be the way to go.
