Wake Forest (5-1) has looked great to start. This isn't like last season, when they went 9-4 on the back of a great defense and some solid luck. Their offense has been really exciting, and their defense has made key stops. The only crack in their resume has been a 33-20 loss to the Miami Hurricanes, but it's hard to fault them there.
The Cal Golden Bears (3-3) have shown many flaws throughout the season, with ugly losses to Clemson and UNLV on their resume. However, they were able to clutch up against Virginia Tech last
week, getting a game-winning drive to win the game 25-19. They're hoping that win gets their season back on track

Wake Forest has been as high-flying as ever. Gio Lopez has accrued nine touchdowns (five through the air, four on the ground) in two games. Only Miami has allowed less than 30 points to Wake Forest all season, and Cal has allowed 39+ points twice, including against UNLV.
If they want to, Wake Forest can use the run to their advantage. Cal's run defense let up big gains to UCLA, Clemson, and UNLV. They were great against Virginia Tech, but that will be tough to do against Wake Forest. Cal has lost twice at home already, and Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele is questionable for the game. I expect the Demon Deacons to win by double digits.
