The New York Jets beat the Tennessee Titans in their Week 1 matchup at a cost.
During the 23-10 win for the Jets (1-0), the team lost two players, one from each side of the ball, for a few weeks. The likes of first-round rookie receiver Omar Cooper Jr. (ankle) and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (groin) both left the game early because of injury.
Neither returned to the contest and there is good news and bad news. Both might avoid being placed on New York's injury reserve list. However, they are still expected to miss a few weeks because of their individual knocks.
In Week 2, the Jets will host the Green Bay Packers (0-1) for a 1 p.m. in their home opener at MetLife Stadium. Both are expected to miss the outing according to the latest updates.
Without
that pair in the lineup, the likes of receiver Isaiah Williams and safety Andre Cisco, respectively, are candidates to replace both in the lineup.
