Jamal Adams has never been shy about stating what's on his mind. He also isn't letting Florham Park or the Big Apple forget him. The former New York Jets safety recently took to social media to reflect on his three seasons with the franchise.
He reminded fans of the impact he believes he made while once again leaving the door open to a possible return. It's the second time in roughly a year that Adams has publicly expressed interest in rejoining the organization that selected him with the sixth-overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Whether Jets fans agree with every part of that statement is another conversation. Adams' departure from New York was well documented and, at times, contentious.
Still, it's difficult to dismiss what he accomplished before the relationship unraveled.
Adams immediately became one of the faces of the franchise. He earned First-Team All-Pro honors in 2019, was named a Second-Team All-Pro twice, made three consecutive Pro Bowls from 2018 through 2020 and landed on the PFWA All-Rookie Team after an impressive debut season.
During his three years with the Jets, Adams developed into one of the NFL's most versatile defensive playmakers, thriving as a blitzer, run defender and emotional leader.
The Jets Adams left are very different from the ones that exist today. Aaron Glenn now serves as the team's head coach, while general manager Darren Mougey has reshaped much of the roster and organizational philosophy.
Neither was part of the front office or coaching staff when Adams forced his way out of New York in 2020, meaning any discussion about a potential reunion would be evaluated through an entirely different lens.
Time also has a way of changing perspectives. What once felt like a fractured relationship doesn't necessarily have to remain that way forever.
The bigger question isn't whether Adams would be interested. He's made that clear. The question is whether the Jets believe he still fits what they're building.
None of that changes the fact that Adams clearly still thinks fondly of the franchise that drafted him. His latest comments don't guarantee a reunion is on the horizon, nor do they suggest conversations are taking place behind the scenes. They simply reinforce what he said a year ago: if the opportunity presented itself, he'd be interested in wearing green and white once again.
Whether the feeling is mutual remains to be seen, but Adams has once again made sure everyone knows the door isn't closed from his side.
