The New York Jets made a slew of roster moves relating to the team's injured reserve list and head coach Aaron Glenn has provided further context.
On Monday, the Jets placed a trio of players on their injured reserve list including defensive tackle David Onyemata (groin), linebacker Marcelino McCrary-Ball (ankle) and wide receiver Arian Smith (knee) on the designation:
As for Glenn's additional updates, the worse came from Smith. He is going to miss the entire 2026 season because of his knee issue. That sheds light on what might be next for the former fourth-round pick of the team at the 2025 NFL draft. Could his time in New York be over?
In addition to Smith, Glenn provided context on Onyemata. Players on the injured reserve list have to spend
at least for weeks there, however, Onyemata will be there for an extended time.
Glenn did not Onyemata is expected to return at some point before the end of the season.
A final note included tight end Mason Taylor. He is not on injured reserve--a good sign, but he is expected to miss Week 3 against the Detroit Lions because of a thumb injury.
Meanwhile, edge defender.Joseph Ossai is healthy and will practice this week.
