The New York Jets and Cleveland Browns will continue their 2026 NFL regular season schedules against each other on Sunday when the two teams do battle at MetLife Stadium in Week 5.
Like there will be every week, there are plenty of expected headlines that will pop up during the days leading up to this one between the Jets (1-3) and Browns (3-1). Some obvious, others not so much.
With that, here are Jets Wire's five storylines to watch for ahead of Jets vs. Browns:
Back home
The Jets are fresh off playing two games on the road with three of their first four contests away from MetLife Stadium. The last time Gang Green was there, the Green Bay Packers beat them in overtime in Week 2.
Does playing in New York provide some juice that helps the Jets get their season
back on track?
Glenn's critics
The critics of head coach Aaron Glenn are starting to get louder and louder. Is he a proper head coach or just a talented coordinator? It appears Glenn's play calling has helped the Jets defense improve, however, he has not exactly had many moments this season that make one think he is a promising head coach.
Expect those rumblings about Glenn's job status to continue until he proves something, but he should have some leash to do so.
Not the same ol' Browns
Many around New York like to dust off the phrase of "same old Jets" when something goes wrong. The Browns are a similar type of NFL franchise... but not in 2026. The Jets will be asked about how serious they have to take this game, not only because their own season might go down the drain, but the Browns look like they're actually turning it around.
Run game woes
The health update of running back Breece Hall (quad) will be one to watch this week. Not just because of his own talents, but because the Jets did not run the ball well without him last week. Braelon Allen had just 59 yards in Week 4 against the Chicago Bears.
First-round rookies
The Jets' first-round rookies are starting to be watched a little more closely. No. 2 overall pick in pass rusher David Bailey had a sack in Week 1 but has gone quiet. Then after a big game for tight end Kenyon Sadiq, he did nothing last week.
They have a lot of career left, including currently injured wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr., but can one of them start to take another step forward against the Browns?
