The New York Jets have opened the 21-day practice window for first-round rookie wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. (ankle).
Cooper landed on injured reserve following the team's season opener, a game in which Cooper made his lone NFL catch in and he has been on the injury designation ever since.
Head coach Aaron Glenn announced on Wednesday that Cooper will begin practicing with his teammates once again:
Cooper can now practice with the team for up to 21 days without taking up a spot on the 53 man roster.
He is eligible to play in the Jets' next game against the New England Patriots (2-3) on Sunday in Week 6, but the New York does not have to activate him until 21 days from now. If Cooper is not placed on the 53-man roster within the 21-day window, he reverts
to the team's IR list for the remainder of the year.
Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2026 NFL season.
