There are no hard feelings in the New York Jets tight end room.
The Jets used on of their three first-round selections at the 2026 NFL Draft at No. 16 overall on tight end Kenyon Sadiq. That came after the team invested a Round 2 pick on tight end Mason Taylor just a year prior at the 2025 draft.
In his first season, Taylor had a solid showing with 44 catches to go along with 369 yards and one touchdown.
Despite any thoughts Taylor could let the Sadiq addition bother him, he said noted the opposite at training camo.
"I was excited," Taylor said. "It's great for our team."
As for the overall picture, head coach Aaron Glenn said bringing in Sadiq was for the obvious. With tight ends in the modern game being just as athletic as wide receivers these
days, Glenn noted the mismatches that causes an opposing defense because they might not know what is coming.
"Back when I was playing, that's all you saw," Glenn told reporters. "I think the skill level of that position has took a tremendous jump as far as size, speed. To be able to bring that type of player on your team?"
