The heavy lifting has been done by the New York Jets and all 32 teams in the NFL over the weekend as teams trimmed their roster down to 53 players.
There is still little time to rest for general manager Darren Mougey and front offices around the league. One day removed from the roster deadline day and it's now time to add more players.
NFL teams won't just have 53 players in their locker room throughout the year. Teams will begin filling their practice squads after the wavier wire has officially opened as well.
NFL practice squads currently consist of 16 players. Teams can carry 17 if one is an international player eligible for a practice squad exemption.
So who else could be joining the 53 via the practice squad?

RB Al-Jay Henderson
A unique one: The #Jets are signing RB Al-Jay Henderson to the practice squad. Henderson went undrafted and attended two rookie camps as a tryout (including NYJ) but remained unsigned all summer. Recently worked out for NYJ and now the NJ native lands a Week 1 practice-squad gig. pic.twitter.com/aO1riqjLFi
