The New York Jets have unveiled their final injury updates ahead of facing the Green Bay Packers in Week 2. There is good and bad.
Starting off on the poor note, any Jets (1-0) that seemed unlikely to face the Packers (0-1), will not.
Throughout this week the likes of wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. (ankle), safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (groin), and edge defender Jospeh Ossai (foot) were considered to have week-to-week injuries. They are all ruled out, as is kick returner Kene Nwangwu (back).
On the positive side for those four, none of them have landed on the team's injured reserve list. If they had, each player would need to miss a minimum of four weeks. Since the Jets did not slap the designation on any of them, they all should return to action sooner
than that.
On the positive side of the ledger for this upcoming weekend, edge defender Will McDonald (ankle) and cornerback D'Angelo Ponds (calf) will play. Ponds will be making his NFL debut as the rookie missed Week 1 because of his injury.
