New York Jets offensive coordinator Frank Reich is preparing to debut his offense with the team in 2026.
The Jets' 2026 regular season opener versus the Tennessee Titans is roughly just one week away. Analyzing what Reich's offense could be, don't be surprised if star running back Breece Hall plays a legitimate role in the passing game.
Hall is absolutely capable of being a receiving threat, but former offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand didn't really make it a focus point of his offense. Hall recorded a career-high 76 receptions as a sophomore in 2023, and he had another 57 catches in 2024.
Under Engstrand in 2025, that number dipped significantly to 36 despite playing 16 games.
The Jets have options in the passing game.
Garrett Wilson is an
elite receiver, and Adonai Mitchell is developing into the WR2. The Jets used two first-round picks on rookie pass catchers Omar Cooper Jr. and Kenyon Sadiq, and sophomore tight end Mason Taylor is a threat, too.
Hall would bring a different element to the passing game, serving as a checkdown option for quarterback Geno Smith. The last time Coach Reich truly oversaw an offense (and saw it all the way through), Indianapolis Colts running backs Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines combined for 80 catches in 2021.
Hall could record 50+ receptions in 2026.
