Chip Trayanum experienced the highs and lows of NFL football in a matter of hours on Friday night.
The New York Jets running back scored his team's lone touchdown in a 23-6 preseason loss to the New York Giants, punching the ball into the end zone from one-yard out during the first half.
Unfortunately, his evening ended on a much more concerning note.
Trayanum was injured on the final play before halftime and remained on the field for several minutes while trainers attended to him. He was eventually carted offand later transported to a local hospital for evaluation, creating an understandably tense moment for teammates, coaches, and fans alike.
Fortunately, the latest update appears to be a positive one. Following the game, Jets head coach Aaron
Glenn met with reporters and was asked about Trayanum's condition. His response should ease concerns.
"He'll be just fine," Glenn said.
While Glenn did not offer many additional details, the brief update was encouraging given the circumstances surrounding the injury.

Trayanum has spent the summer battling for opportunities in a crowded Jets backfield, making the frightening scene even harder to watch. The young running back had just delivered one of the night's brightest moments, scoring New York's only touchdown before his evening took an unexpected turn.
For a few uneasy minutes, football took a back seat as teammates and fans waited for answers. By the time Glenn addressed reporters after the game, however, the mood surrounding the situation had changed considerably. The Jets may not have gotten the result they wanted on the scoreboard, but they received the update that mattered most.
