The New York Jets are moving forward with Geno Smith at quarterback for the reminder of the 2026 NFL season.
Once the 2027 draft comes about, the name Arch Manning will be mentioned.
And his uncle, former New York Giants quarterback legend, Eli Manning, admitted he would be happy if Arch Manning ended up being selected by the Jets at next year's draft.
Manning, a two-time Super Bowl winner with the Giants, appeared on the Barstool Sports podcast "Pardon My Take" and said he would prefer that his nephew--who plays for the University of Texas--lands with the Jets if he enters the draft next April.
“For purely selfish reasons, I wouldn’t mind if he went to the Jets, just because I live right there, I could go to games, I could have dinner with him
during the week a little bit,” Eli Manning said. “I think it’d be great for him to have some family nearby, so I wouldn’t mind him going to the Jets, being up in New York.”

It is expected, despite Smith improving the offense in 2026, that the Jets will end up selecting a quarterback in the first round of the upcoming draft.
Arch Manning is likely going to be one of the top quarterback prospects if he were to enter the 2027 draft.
Time will tell.
