Despite an ugly day of weather once again hampering a New York Jets game at MetLife Stadium, that did not stop the top playmakers on the offense from making plays in the air in Week 5.
The Jets (2-3) beat the Cleveland Browns
(3-2) in a 17-12 final. It stopped a three-game losing skid for New York and brought the team's head coach, Aaron Glenn, a much needed victory. It was his first one against a team with a winning record.Glenn and the rest of Gang Green owe quarterback Geno Smith and No. 1 receiver Garrett Wilson plenty for that one.
Wilson hauled in seven of 11 targets from Smith in the rainy conditions for 116 yards and a touchdown.
"As long as we're intentional, I'm good with that," Wilson said via video conference. "At the end of the day,
I want all my teammates to believe in me like I believe in them. In this league, you get that belief by doing your job at a high level. I take a lot of pride in that and I want to do it at a high level every time I'm out there."
Another big game will want some to see Wilson getting the ball more often moving forward. It sounds like that might happen with the way Smith spoke.
"He's Garrett Wilson," Smith said. "He makes plays when the ball comes his way."
