The New York Jets have been holding a competition at kicker all offseason long. The battle is currently down to Jason Sanders and Cade York. There have been numerous contenders throughout the offseason, with the likes of Younghoe Koo and Lenny Krieg being released earlier this summer.

Monday's practice added more concern to the ongoing situation. The Jets should be reaching a point in camp where they are comfortable with where this position battle is headed, with 53-man rosters to be finalized at the end of this week. That's unfortunately not the case.

Sanders was 2-of-5 at Monday's practice with misses from 38, 43 and 53 yards. York did not fare any better. The former LSU placekicker went 3-for-5, missing from 38 and roughly 43 yards, per Zack

Rosenblatt.

Sanders converted his lone opportunity in Week 2 of the preseason, making a 39-yard attempt. He also nailed his one extra point attempt. York also made an extra point versus the Steelers, but missed a lofty 59-yard kick.

Sanders, nor York are inspiring much confidence in the Jets' placekicking battle heading into the regular season. General manager Darren Mougey should strongly consider adding another kicker after roster cutdown day around the NFL. The decision to let Nick Folk go is looking shaky at best.
