Everything went to plan for the New York Jets offense in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans.
The Jets (1-0) left Nashville with a 23-10 win over the Titans (0-1).
Rightfully so, playmakers on the Jets gave credit to the most deserving group on the offense following the victory: The offensive line.
Gang Green's big men up front made things a lot easier for the likes of quarterback Geno Smith, running back Breece Hall and the rest of the skill position players around them.
Smith's job in New York is to be a steady presence. The veteran QB was 19-for-24 passing with 215 yards. Smith completed passes to seven different receivers and it helped he was not sacked one time and the Titans were only recorded with one QB hit the entire game.
"Outstanding,"
Smith said. "I don't think I got touched at all. That's always a great sign."
Smith's efficiency allowed Hall to average 4.6 yards per carry which came out to 102 yards total on the ground. Hall punched in one touchdown as well.
"They made my job easy, Braelon (Allen)'s job easy," Hall said. "We were very successful, for sure."
And despite all the praise, is there still room for improvement? Offensive lineman Joe Tippmann thought so.
"We're still not there," Tippmann told reporters. "There's still stuff we want to clean up."
"We would've gotten a lot more if I did my job a little better," he added.
