The New York Jets may not have to wait long for an answer on running back Breece Hall. They will, however, have to wait a little longer than they probably hoped.
Hall left Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Detroit Lions with a thigh injury after carrying 13 times for 32 yards. The Jets' star running back also contributed five receptions for 63 yards, but his afternoon ended in the fourth quarter after he felt something while running and then planted his leg during a tackle.
In a rarity for an injured player, Hall gave an update on his injury after the contest.
"It sucks, but it's part of the game... I felt something when I was running, and then got tackled and planted it and felt something. So, we'll see," Hall said.

Head coach Aaron Glenn said Monday that the Jets will not have an update on Hall's condition until Wednesday. That leaves the team with at least a few days of uncertainty as it prepares for its next game.

The timing is less than ideal because New York is already dealing with injuries throughout the offense. Adonai Mitchell missed Week 3 with a finger injury, while Omar Cooper Jr., Tim Patrick and Arian Smith remain on injured reserve.
Braelon Allen would take on a larger role if Hall is unavailable, putting more responsibility on a running back who already scored Sunday against Detroit. That would also place additional pressure on Geno Smith, who had one of his best games of the season while completing 31 of 37 passes for 320 yards and three touchdowns.
For now, though, the Jets are left waiting. Wednesday's update should provide the first real indication of whether Hall can return quickly or whether New York must begin preparing for life without one of its most important offensive weapons.
