The New York Jets play their first divisional game of the 2026 NFL season on Sunday when they visit the New England Patriots in Week 6. It'll be a pivotal contest in which the result will shake-up the AFC East standings. Offensive coordinator Frank Reich will need a productive showing from his unit after they beat the Cleveland Browns last week despite only scoring 17 points.
Jets Wire identified three potential X-factors for the Jets' offense versus the Patriots in Week 6.
Braelon Allen, RB
Jets running back Braelon Allen rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown via 24 carries in the Week 5 victory over the Cleveland Browns. It was a career-best showing for the former Wisconsin standout. With Breece Hall still sidelined, the Jets will need another big performance
from Allen.
Mason Taylor, TE
Rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq remains in the concussion protocol after back-to-back ineffective performances. Mason Taylor caught all three of his targets for 24 receiving yards versus the Browns. There's a decent chance he finds himself in an expanded role against the Patriots.
Garrett Wilson, WR
It goes without saying the Jets offense will need its star Garrett Wilson to be extremely productive. This offense is shorthanded without Hall, AD Mitchell, and possibly Sadiq. Wilson had 104 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 5. A repeat performance would help the offense against a Mike Vrabel-coached defense.
