Geno Smith could not have envisioned his second tenure with the New York Jets starting any better (as far as the preseason is concerned).

Before the start of the 2026 NFL regular season, that's all we have. But take the good where you can.

The No. 1 QB for the Green and White only led the way under center for one drive before being pulled from the exhibition contest. That's all Smith needed to find the end zone... and in perfect fashion.

Smith and the Jets took the opening kickoff the length of the field and scored to take a 7-0 lead. On the drive, Smith was a perfect 7-for-7 passing and eventually found tight end Jelani Woods on a 13-yard pass for the score.

It was drawn up and executed perfectly by the Jets.
