The New York Jets' offensive line continues to give the team reason for optimism, even if Pro Football Focus still isn't ready to place the unit among the NFL's better groups.
PFF's latest offensive line rankingsheading into Week 3 moved New York up one spot from No. 19 to No. 18 following Week 2. That still puts the Jets in the bottom half of the league, but the reasoning behind the ranking offers considerably more encouragement than the number itself:

PFF specifically highlighted the Jets' investment at both tackle spots, noting that the team's decision to use first-round picks on Fashanu and Membou in consecutive drafts is already paying dividends.
The noted pass-blocking grades are important for a Jets offense that is asking quarterback Geno
Smith to operate within Frank Reich's system while also trying to establish a productive running game. The more consistently the tackles handle their assignments without assistance, the more flexibility Reich has to use the rest of his offensive personnel.
The ranking also still leaves room for improvement, as it suggests the Jets still have work to do, but the performance of the tackles suggests the foundation is there. PFF's methodology is worth remembering this early in the season. The rankings are built primarily from projected player grades and are adjusted based on lineup changes during the opening weeks because the sample size is still relatively small.
As more 2026 performance data becomes available, the rankings will begin to reflect what players are actually doing on the field rather than preseason expectations. For now, No. 18 is where the Jets stand. That is an improvement from the previous ranking, and the continued strength of Fashanu and Membou provides a compelling reason to believe the unit can keep climbing as the season progresses.
