The preseason is over. The roster is set. The next time the New York Jets take the field, the results will count.
That reality is beginning to settle in across the organization as the Jets turn their attention toward a Week 1 matchup with the Tennessee Titans. For tight end Mason Taylor, it also means enteringthe next chapter of his NFL career.
After a promising rookie season, expectations are naturally higher entering Year 2. Based on his recent comments, Taylor feels more prepared than ever to meet them.
Speaking with reporters this week, the former LSU Tigers standout explained how much more comfortable he feels in the offense compared to a year ago.
"Everything is starting to click. [I'm] just getting more comfortable in it [and] confident.
[That] lets you go out there and play faster. It's much easier than second-guessing everything, so you're going out there playing fast and free," Taylor said.

The comments align with what many observers have noticed throughout training camp and the preseason. Taylor has looked more decisive, more confident, and more comfortable operating within the offense. Aaron Glenn has noticed the growth as well.
The Jets head coach recently spoke about Taylor's development. He made it clear he likes what he's seeing from the young tight end as the regular season approaches.

Confidence is one thing. Production is another. The Jets are hoping Taylor can combine both in 2026.
