The New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will do battle on Friday at 7 p.m. during their preseason opener at MetLife Stadium.
Prior to that, the war already started.
The first day of joint practices between the teams saw several fights breakout. Then that continued on Day 2, despite Buccaneers offensive lineman Luke Goedeke noting that team leaders got together to discuss a way to avoid that happening again... although, he did not sound too happy about the situation overall.
"We're here to get better at football," Goedeke said.
In the end, the second outing was just as fiery. On the Jets' side of the ledger, linebacker Demario Davis seemed to downplay the fights.
"Very competitive, very intense," Davis said. "I think there was some explosive moments,
but nothing that ran over and were all able to get it under control and were able to continue practice."
