The New York Jets officially opened training camp this week.
General manager Darren Mougeymet with reportersto discuss everything from contract extensions to technology and the team's outlook for 2026.
Expectations are higher than they have been in a while. The atmosphere, overall, has been positive.

Jets are embracing artificial intelligence
The Jets have joined a growing list of NFL teams using artificial intelligence to streamline football operations. Mougey said the biggest benefit has been saving time by automating research and organizing information.
"What it's helped with the most is the automation of things. We're saving a lot of man hours being able to automate information, systems, and spit
it out quickly," Mougey said.

Aaron Glenn's energy is already setting the tone
Mougey continues to be impressed by Aaron Glenn's leadership entering his second season as head coach. He specifically pointed to Glenn's energy during meetings and practices as something that resonates throughout the building. In short, watching him call defensive plays has been "fun to watch."
"It's been felt like we had good OTAs. To see him engage with the players in the meetings (and) on the field," Mougey said. "You see that energy and enthusiasm."

Locking up Breece Hall and Joe Tippmann mattered
The Jets made keeping two foundational offensive players a priority this offseason. Mougey reiterated that point when discussing Breece Hall's extensionand Joe Tippmann's new arrangement.
"Getting Breece and 'Tipp' done was important to us, and I'm glad we were able to do that."

The Jets expect more from Adonai Mitchell
After acquiring Adonai Mitchell in last year's blockbuster trade with the Colts, the Jets are expecting the young receiver to take another step. Mitchell enters camp projected as the No. 2 receiver opposite Garrett Wilson, making Year 2 in New York an important one for both him and the offense.

The Geno Smith story is in the past
Mougey didn't spend much time discussing Geno Smith's offseason off-field matter. Instead, he made it clear the organization is ready to move on.
"I'm glad that's behind us," Mougey said.
That sentiment reflects the mood around the Jets as camp begins. With Smith's off-field issue no longer hanging over the organization, New York can keep its attention where it belongs—on preparing for what it hopes will be another successful season.
