The New York Jets and Detroit Lions will continue their 2026 NFL regular season schedules against each other on Sunday when the two teams do battle at Ford Field in Week 3.
Like there will be every week, there are plenty of expected headline that will pop up during the days leading up to this one. Some obvious, others not so much.
With that, here are Jets Wire's five storylines to watch for ahead of Jets at Lions:
Glenn heads back
More to come on New York head coach Aaron Glenn.
The Jets hired Glenn ahead of the 2025 NFL season. He was sunk his teeth in the league with the Jets as a player. However, he was hired in New York when he was the Detroit Lions defensive coordinator.
Glenn will be asked about facing his former team and Lions head coach Dan Campbell for the
first time.
Glenn's decisions
While this is about the Jets facing the Lions, it doesn't feel like the discussions about Glenn's time management decision against the Green Bay Packers last week is going to go anywhere until this Lions game is over. Glenn hasn't really owned his mistakes at all.
Defensive dominence
While Glenn disappointed last week with his head coach duties, some speculate it is because he is now running the defense as a player caller. Glenn did not do so last year.
But there is one thing that can't be debated: Glenn's play calling has improved this unit.
What happened to the run game?
The Jets had an elite rushing attack in Week 1 as running back Breece Hall surpassed 100 yards against the Tennessee Titans. Last week, it went in the opposite direction as Hall had 29 yards and averaged 1.8 yards per carry.
Hall stepped up as a receiver, however, those on the Jets offense will be asked what they can do to get back to Week 1 levels throughout this week.
High-flying foe
The Lions sport the best passing attack that the Jets have faced on the young year. The group is led by quarterback Jared Goff and is paced by receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.
