The New York Jets are expecting to have both Breece Hall and Braelon Allen available at the running back position Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Head coach Aaron Glenn confirmed this while speaking with the media on Wednesday.
There is a distinction between having both running backs healthy and giving them their usual workload. Glenn indicated the Jets will manage the two players, suggesting the coaching staff will be mindful of how much each contributes against Kansas City. However, neither back is expected to miss the matchup, which gives Geno Smith and the offense both options heading into a difficult road game.
Glenn made their availability clear when asked about the backfield situation.
"Both will play," Glenn said.
How the Jets divide
the work between Hall and Allen remains to be seen, but quarterback Geno Smith isn't concerned about which player gets the opportunity. QB1 expressed confidence in the team's skill players, emphasizing that the expectations remain the same regardless of who's on the field.
"When we're on the field - whether it's Breece, Braelon, Isaiah - no matter who's out there on the field, we expect those guys to make plays. They usually do," Smith said.

That confidence is important as the Jets prepare for a difficult road matchup. Hall and Allen give offensive coordinator Frank Reich different options in the backfield, while Isaiah provides another player Smith trusts to contribute when his number is called.
Glenn's decision to manage Hall and Allen's workloads suggests the Jets are thinking beyond simply getting through Sunday's game. Having both available gives New York flexibility, and Smith's comments indicate the quarterback has no reservations about whoever receives the touches. The challenge now is turning that depth into consistent production against Kansas City.
