The New York Jets have made a final decision (for now) at kicker.
The Jets (1-2) face the Chicago Bears (2-1) in Week 4 and Jason Sanders will be doing the kicking duties for that game and moving forward... as noted, for now. It feels difficult to say the Jets have figured it out at kicker with the woes the team has had at the position the past few years, but it's Sanders at the moment.
Sanders has played in New York's first three games. In those, Sanders was called up from the practice squad to kick ahead of Blake Grupe, who was on the 53-man roster.
Grupe was signed off waivers at the end of training camp but Sanders kept the starting job via the practice squad. Now he will from the 53-man roster as the Jets have released Grupe and signed Sanders off their
practice squad.

Each NFL team can only call a player up three times a season from the practice squad so a decision had to be made.
Sanders struggled during the preseason, prompting the Grupe addition. From there, Sanders held onto his job.
Sanders has made five of his six field goal attempts (83.3%) this season, including makes from 51 and 52 yards. He caused some worry with an ugly miss from 54 yards on opening day, but has otherwise been perfect, extra points included.
