The Georgia Bulldogs have one major recruiting need that stands out more than any other position in the class of 2027. Georgia and coach Kirby Smart have no commitments from cornerbacks in the 2027 cycle.
That may be changing soon. One of Georgia's top recruiting targets, three-star cornerback Preston Glasco, has announced his decommitment from the UConn Huskies.
"After careful consideration, I have decided to reopen my recruitment and step away from my commitment," Glasco said via social media. "I want to sincerely thank Coach Candle, Coach Chance and the entire UConn coaching staff who welcomed me and believed in me throughout this process. I have tremendous respect and appreciation for UConn and the opportunity they gave me.
"This was not an
easy decision, but with new opportunities developing I feel it is important to take my time to explore my options and make the best decision for my future. Thank you, UConn, for everything."
Glasco committed to UConn on June 10. Georgia has hosted Glasco on multiple visits and offered him a scholarship since then.
Glasco plays high school football for Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia. Glasco has excellent length and size and is ranked as a three-star recruit. He's the No. 879 recruit in the country and the No. 88 cornerback. The UConn decommit is the No. 104 recruit in Georgia.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound cornerback has impressive athleticism and ran a 4.47-4.57 second 40-yard dash (hand timed) during a workout with the South Carolina Gamecocks. South Carolina and Alabama are the top schools pursuing Glasco in addition to Georgia. Both South Carolina and Alabama offered Glasco a scholarship in September. Glasco is a great student and is healthy after recovering from a surgery he had in 2025.
Georgia has 20 commitments in the class of 2027. The Bulldogs have two commitments from safeties, but are still needing to land a cornerback. That's bound to change eventually and Glasco is a big target for Georgia.
