It should come as no surprise that the Georgia Bulldogs are favored to beat the Florida Gators on Halloween. Georgia is favored by over a touchdown against Florida, who is in the first year of head coach Jon Sumrall.
Entering the Florida-Georgia game, the Gators do have a big question at quarterback. Starting quarterback Aaron Philo, the all-time leading passer in Georgia high school history, was a game-time decision due to a shoulder injury against Texas. He sat out the Texas game, but Tramell Jones was able to secure a massive road win in his first career start.
Will Florida start Jones or Philo? Philo started out the season playing at a very high level, but he was not as effective in losses to Missouri and South Carolina.
Georgia showed signs
of weakness in Week 7 with the Bulldogs falling to Auburn. Georgia has to play a better game against Florida to beat their hated rival.
The Georgia-Florida game is a battle of two of the SEC's top three scoring offenses. Georgia averages 43.0 points per game while Florida averages 39.6 points per game.
Georgia has won the last five games in the series, but the Gators have played their best against their toughest opponents this season. Georgia can't afford back-to-back losses. Florida could be eliminated from College Football Playoff consideration with a loss, so this another high-stakes battle in the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.
