Georgia hosts a Tennessee State team
that opens the season against Jackson State on Saturday, Aug. 29. Tennessee State is coming off a brutal 2025 season where the Tigers went 2-10 and failed to score more than 24 points in a game all season. Tennessee State plays at the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level and is receiving a big paycheck to play Georgia.
With the massive talent gap, it makes sense why Georgia is favored by over six touchdowns, per FanDuel. Georgia has an impressive history of dominating opponents in Week 1 under coach Kirby Smart. However, the Bulldogs have never scored over 50 points in Week 1 in the Smart era.
