Las Vegas Raiders star tight end Brock Bowers missed Week 1 action due to a knee injury. Bowers underwent surgery for a meniscus injury days before the Raiders' Week 1 opener against the Miami Dolphins. Bowers is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Bowers, a former first-round pick from the University of Georgia, has been hampered by injuries at times during his NFL and college career. However, when healthy, Bowers is very productive and is consistently one of the best tight ends in football.
Bowers missed five games in 2025. He still posted 680 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, but it was not close to the record-breaking production he achieved as a rookie.
If Bowers is out or limited, then the Raiders are expected
to target tight end Michael Mayer more often in the passing game. Mayer just signed a three-year, $45 million contract extension with Las Vegas.
The Raiders play in Week 2 at the Los Angeles Chargers at 4:05 p.m. ET on Sunday, Sept. 20. Las Vegas is 1-0.
