The Washington Commanders have added a veteran NFL center to bolster their depth at the position. Washington signed former Georgia Bulldogs center Trey Hill, who will wear No. 60 for the Commanders.
Starting Washington center Nick Allegretti suffered a calf strain at the start of training camp, so Hill will help fill in for Allegretti, who is expected to miss a week or more.
Hill played with the Cincinnati Bengals from 2021-2024, where he started three games. The 6-foot-4, 320-pound offensive lineman was a sixth-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft. Hill has appeared in 25 career NFL games, so he brings experience to the Commanders.
Hill joins a Washington centers room that is inexperience with Allegretti down. The Commanders have centers Julian Good-Jones
and Matt Gulbin, a rookie, but both players have very limited NFL experience.
Hill has been on a journey since the Bengals moved on from him. Hill joined the Green Bay Packers for training camp in 2025, but did not make Green Bay's roster. He signed with the Bears and joined their practice squad for the 2025 season. This offseason, he joined the Tennessee Titans, but was waived in June.
Hill now will look to make the Commanders' 53-man roster. He could stick around on their practice squad.
