Former Georgia Bulldogs running back Zamir White has finally found an NFL home after a lengthy wait in free agency. White is signing with the San Francisco 49ers, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. San Francisco worked out White and
White provides running back depth for the 49ers ahead of their preseason opener on Thursday, August 13 against the Tennessee Titans. White last played the 2025 NFL season with the Las Vegas Raiders. He posted 12 carries for 32 yards.
White is a former fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft. He helped Georgia win the 2021 national championship against the Alabama Crimson Tide and is a powerful runner. He's not as effective as a receiver.
White has appeared in 45 career games over his four year NFL career. He has 198 carries
for 736 yards and two rushing touchdowns in his NFL career and 25 career receptions for 152 yards. White's physical style of running will be key for him to have a shot to make the 49ers' 53-man roster.
The 49ers have one of the NFL's best running backs in Christian McCaffrey. However, after McCaffrey, San Francisco has questionable depth. Jordan James, Isaac Guerendo (on the physically unable to perform list) and Kaelon Black are all dealing with injuries. The 49ers also signed NFL veteran running back Khalil Herbert.
