The Georgia Bulldogs earned a dominant 63-3 win over the Tennessee State Tigers to open their 2026 college football season. Georgia was far from the only team in the US LBM Coaches Poll to earn a 30-plus point win in Week 1.
Following Week 1, where just one top-25 team lost, the Bulldogs are now ranked No. 2 in the coaches poll. Georgia moved up from No. 3. Georgia is ranked only behind the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes. The Bulldogs leapfrogged the Oregon Ducks, who fell four spots to No. 6 after having a close call in Week 1 with Boise State.
Georgia received seven first place votes, which is the third-most in the country behind Ohio State (51) and No. 5 Indiana (11). No. 3 Texas and No. 4 Notre Dame are also ranked in the top-five.
The Dawgs are
1-0 and play the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in Week 2. Georgia is the SEC's highest ranked team after the conference had a dominant start to the season. All 16 SEC teams won in Week 1 and now seven SEC teams are ranked in the top-12 of the coaches poll. The SEC composes half of the top-10 and has 10 teams in the top-25.
