The Atlanta Falcons are keeping around a former Georgia Bulldogs fan favorite. Former Georgia walk-on running back Cash Jones has signed with Atlanta's practice squad after he missed the Falcons' 53-man roster.
Jones notably made a push to make the Falcons' roster with a strong performance in preseason Week 2
. Jones posted over 100 total yards and scored a touchdown in Atlanta's big win over the Indianapolis Colts.Jones along with Tyler Goodson are the Falcons' two running backs on their practice squad. Atlanta has Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson as their two running backs on their 53-man roster.
Jones is an excellent receiver and has potential in the NFL as a third-down back or in a special teams role. Jones went undrafted in the 2026 NFL draft.
Entering the preseason, the Falcons had the most former Georgia Bulldogs of any team in the NFL. Now, Atlanta has four former Georgia players. The Falcons have outside linebacker Jalon Walker (out of the season), wide receiver Zachariah Branch, tight end Charlie Woerner and Jones.
