The Atlanta Falcons are moving on from former Georgia Bulldogs fan favorite running back Cash Jones, who never appeared in a regular season game with the Falcons, but made some plays for Atlanta in preseason action.
Jones was undrafted, but signed with Atlanta following the 2026 NFL draft. His receiving skills and special teams ability helped him land a spot on the Falcons' practice squad after he missed the 53-man roster. Jones will look for a new NFL home after spending the first four Weeks of the season with Atlanta's practice squad.
Jones' release freed up space for the Falcons to sign former Alabama Crimson Tide running back Jam Miller to their practice squad. The Falcons are 2-2 after an up-and-down start to the 2026 NFL season.
The Falcons
have just two running backs on their 53-man roster in superstar Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson. Atlanta has NFL veteran and former Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert on its practice squad along with Miller.
