All 16 SEC teams played in Week 10. All of the top eight teams in the standings played against each other. Most notably, the Georgia Bulldogs thumped the Ole Miss Rebels 42-7 on the road. Georgia looks like the best team in the country while Ole Miss' College Football Playoff hopes suffered a major blow. Georgia is the top team in our power rankings.
After Georgia in our power rankings is the Texas Longhorns, who earned a big 34-20 road win over the Missouri Tigers in a game that featured two teams with playoff aspirations. Missouri goes on the road to play Georgia next week.
The Tennessee Volunteers delivered at home and beat the Kentucky Wildcats 34-6. Kentucky was actually tied with Georgia atop the SEC standings entering Week 10. However,
the Wildcats did not look like an SEC championship contender against Tennessee, who has gone under the radar.
The Alabama Crimson Tide continue to have a perfect record against coach Lane Kiffin. Alabama used a strong performance from its defense to dispatch LSU in a big road win for the Crimson Tide. Alabama's red zone defense looked particularly strong. The Crimson Tide justified their loft No. 5 ranking.
Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas all have two losses in conference play while Georgia has just one. Every other SEC team has at least three losses. Georgia is looking like a lock to make the SEC championship, while the Bulldogs' most likely opponent is up in the air with Alabama having a good chance to advance.
Oklahoma notched a 23-7 road win over Florida, who suddenly is having offensive woes (although Florida has played two great defenses over the past two weeks). Vanderbilt beat Mississippi State 25-23 in a battle of two of the SEC's worst teams. Auburn beat Arkansas 26-23 in another less notable SEC contest.
