The Georgia Bulldogs and quarterback Gunner Stockton begin the 2026 college football season against the Tennessee State Tigers. Georgia is heavily favored against Tennessee State, who plays at the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level.
Tennessee State is coming off a dreadful 2-10 season, which featured some horrible offensive performances. Last season, Georgia went 12-2 and won the SEC championship. However, the Bulldogs' season ended with in a loss in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff for a second straight year.
Georgia is undefeated in season openers and against FCS opponents during the coach Kirby Smart era. The No. 3 Bulldogs have high expectations again and Georgia's Week 1 game will offer Georgia fans the first real
glimpse at the 2026 version of Georgia.
