The Georgia Bulldogs dominated the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in a 70-20 victory in the rain at Sanford Stadium. Georgia jumped out to a 49-0 lead in the contest. Wide receiver Thomas Blackshear was absent from Georgia's win.
Following the game, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart shared that Blackshear has a wrist injury that forced him to miss the game. Blackshear is expected to be part of Georgia's wide receiver rotation and saw significant playing time in Week 1 against Tennessee State when he posted two catches for 15 yards.
“He’s got a little wrist injury that we’re deal with, and he had a cast on," Smart said after Georgia's win over Western Kentucky. "He’s just getting better from that.”
Blackshear's next opportunity to play will be on Saturday,
Sept. 19 in Georgia's SEC opener against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Arkansas is coming off a brutal 43-10 loss to Utah. Ahead of the Arkansas game, both UGA and Arkansas will have to release official SEC availability reports.
