The Georgia Bulldogs dominated Western Kentucky 70-20 with Georgia's backups getting plenty of playing time in the second half. Georgia raced out to a 49-0 lead in the second quarter.
With the Bulldogs playing young players, Georgia got a glimpse at a lot of talented playmakers including freshman defensive back Tyriq Green. Green, a four-star athlete from Buford High School in Georgia, scored touchdowns on a bizarre fumble recovery after an interception return and a 91-yard kickoff return. The freshman also posted two tackles.
However, Green suffered an ankle injury in Georgia's win. Coach Kirby Smart provided a very limited update on Green's status after the game. Smart expanded on Green's status a couple of days later while the Bulldogs prepare
for Arkansas.
"T Green (Tyriq Green), we're finding more and more out on," Smart said. "We will see what the deal is with him as the week goes, whether he's able to play or not."
Georgia fans will know the status of Green and others when the SEC releases the weekly availability report on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
