TheGeorgia Bulldogs are off to a great start in the 2026 college football season, with a Week 1 win (63-3) against Tennessee State and a Week 2 win (70-20) against Western Kentucky.
A certain Georgia wide receiver hasn't made a lot of noise just yet, but is starting to make more plays this season. Junior wide receiver Sacovie White-Helton doesn't have a lot of stats thus far, but he's made key contributions.
Against Tennessee State in Week 1, White-Helton got three receptions for 34 yards. It was a solid performance. In Week 2, it was more of the same. Against Western Kentucky, he only caught one pass from quarterback Gunner Stockton, but it was for a 70-yard touchdown in the second quarter to put them up 34-0.
“Yeah, the throw and the decision
by Gunner (Stockton) was great," Smart said on White-Helton's long touchdown. "It was elite. The catch by Sacovie (White-Helton), using all his hands and not his body was really big. And then his burst, you know, to split the safeties and go make a play. So it was really nice protection and really nice decision. Great catch and run after the catch.”
White-Helton is making improvements every game, leading the team in receiving yards last week. He's currently at four catches for 104 yards and a touchdown this year. He's averaging 26 yards per catch.
White-Helton is a former three-star recruit and the 33rd-best athlete in the class of 2024. He committed to Georgiain 2022 and enrolled early in January 2024. So far in his career for the Bulldogs, he has 16 catches for 212 yards and a touchdown.
At 5-foot-9, 180 pounds, White-Helton is a quick receiver who can excel in the slot but play outside if needed. He has deep-threat ability and is an active blocker. He's starting to do more for the Bulldogs and is someone to look out for the rest of the season.
Georgia will take on Arkansas next on Saturday, Sept. 19 in the Bulldogs' SEC opener.
