ESPN's "College GameDay" is avoiding premier games in both the Big Ten and SEC in Week 10, which is arguably the top weekend of college football all season. Instead, GameDay will head to South Bend, Indiana, as the No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish host the No. 1 Miami Hurricanes.
"We're heading to South Bend for one of the games of the year!" GameDay said via social media. Last season, Miami's Week 1 win over Notre Dame ended up being the deciding factor between the two programs when the College Football Playoff committee was selecting teams. Another loss to Miami could put Notre Dame's playoff hopes in jeopardy although top teams across the country have more losses this season than last season.
GameDay picked the Miami at Notre Dame game over
other great Week 10 games including Georgia at Ole Miss, LSU versus Alabama, BYU versus Utah, Texas versus Missouri, Tennessee versus Kentucky, Ohio State versus Oregon and more. Week 10 action will separate a lot of teams in their respective conference championship races, which all appear pretty crowded.
To date, GameDay has visited a pair of Big 12 campuses and Big Ten campuses. GameDay has gone to five SEC campuses, which is by far the most of any conference. GameDay has not visited an ACC campus this season, but has attended games featuring Clemson and Miami.
