There were a lot of big plays made during the Georgia Bulldogs
versus Oklahoma Sooners game. Most of those big plays were executed by the Bulldogs and several of them simply went their way. Georgia showcased offensively once again just why they can score at any moment and defensively they did the same. For a team to really keep opponents on their heels, they must be able to pop off big plays and the Bulldogs did that against Oklahoma.This was Georgia's biggest test so far this year and it was a game that everyone wanted to witness as far as explosive plays against a team like Oklahoma. The Bulldogs did not fail to provide those home run plays, whether it be the run game or in the passing game. Those plays were produced and Georgia ended up finishing
solid at the end with 307 total yards in their 41-13 victory.
Defensively, the big plays were also made from players like KJ Bolden, who had an interception and Chris Cole's 85-yard fumble return touchdown run just to name a couple. The Bulldogs held Oklahoma to 296 yards total on 69 plays with an average of 4.3 yards per play and forced four critical turnovers.
Georgia's big play of the game
After all of the big plays that the Bulldogs produced against the Sooners, there was one play that stood out the most to Kirby Smart.
"Big time play of the game is Dink's (Rasean Dinkins) punch out," Smart said, 'You know, there's forced fumbles and then there's gifts. The Dawgs didn't beat the Dawgs today, but the Sooners in a lot of ways beat the Sooners and they gifted us multiple turnovers that could've been touchdowns and the game would've been different."
The big plays that the Bulldogs produced throughout the contest took away any of the momentum that Oklahoma had from start to finish. Georgia never really lost any of its footing and looked like a well oiled machine for the better part of the game. Although there may be things to work on in all phases of the game according to coach Kirby Smart, they made another statement Saturday in Athens. If Georgia can continue to create big plays or even be gifted with big plays, it certainly won't be a bad thing if it works in their favor like it did against Oklahoma. The Bulldogs will now shift their focus towards Vanderbilt.
