Former Georgia Bulldogs and Pittsburgh Steelersoffensive tackleBroderick Jones has found a new team, as ESPN reported that Jones, along with a 2027 fourth-round pick, was traded to theDallas Cowboys for a 2027 third- and sixth-round pick.
Jones began his pro career in Pittsburgh, being drafted by the Steelers in the first-round, 14th overall, in the 2023 NFL Draft. Jones contributed quite a bit in his rookie season, starting his first game in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens. Later on in the season, he was a full-time starter at right tackle. He entered his second year in 2024 as the starting right tackle and was relatively healthy for that offensive unit.
Jones' 2025 season was a bit up and down as he sustained a neck injury in Week 11 against
the Chicago Bears, which ultimately ended his season. He was cleared this training camp but was relegated to a bit of a backup role throughout. With the way some of the offensive linemen that they drafted in the last two years have done, Pittsburgh sent Jones to the Cowboys. Now Jones will add depth to their offensive line and will be tasked with protecting quarterback Dak Prescott.
Jones played college football at Georgiafrom 2020 through 2022, winning two national championships. Jones is now entering his fourth year in the league. This is the second straight year where the Steelers traded a former high draft pick from the University of Georgia to the Cowboys. Last year, Pittsburgh traded wide receiver George Pickens to the Cowboys and Pickens went on to have the best year of his NFL career.
