A Rodrigo Blankenship record has fallen. Georgia Bulldogs kicker Peyton Woodring broke Blankenship's record of 200 straight made extra points during Georgia's 41-13 victory against Oklahoma.
Woodring has now made 201 consecutive extra points. He broke Blankenship's record
in the fourth quarter following Dwight Phillips' long touchdown run. Blankenship held both the SEC and Georgia record for most consecutive made extra points.Woodring converted an extra point with a bad snap in the first half of Georgia's win thanks to some nifty ball handling from quarterback Gunner Stockton, who serves as the holder. Woodring made two of two field goal attempts and five of five extra points in Georgia's win. The senior continues to consistently deliver for
the Georgia offense, which led the nation in scoring entering Week 3.
'You know, like we prepare well," Georgia coach Kirby Smart said after the win over Oklahoma. "We play with consistency. We don't take our preparation lightly. And our staff puts a tremendous amount of work into every one of these games. They're really hard to get ready for. And a lot of sacrifices are made through the staff and the players. And you've got to be willing to do those."
Woodring has certainly been a fixture of consistency for Georgia. The Bulldogs can always feel confident in Woodring, who has made 84.0% or more of his field goals during all four seasons at UGA.
