The undefeated Georgia Bulldogs (6-0, 4-0 SEC) host the Auburn Tigers (3-2, 1-2 SEC) in Week 7 of the college football season. Georgia has won nine straight games in the series, but Auburn got an extra week to prepare for Georgia. The Tigers had a bye week on Oct. 10 while Georgia won an emotional road game against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Georgia can't have a let down a week after earning a huge road win. The Bulldogs and coach Kirby Smart know that humility is a week away in the SEC.
"What a great college football game, great atmosphere," Smart said after beating Alabama.
The SEC previously announced the Georgia-Auburn game will start at 3:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 17. The TV channel was up in the air until after Week 6 concluded. We now know that
Georgia-Auburn will be televised on ESPN.
Auburn has not won at Georgia since 2005. The Tigers have struggled on offense at times during the first year of the coach Alex Golesh era. Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown presents a dual-threat challenge for Georgia. Brown is Auburn's leading passer and leading rusher.
Following the Auburn game, Georgia will have a bye week. The Bulldogs seek to continue their elite play at home against Auburn. Georgia leads the all-time series 66-56-8. The Dawgs and Tigers are playing their rivalry annually under the current nine-game SEC schedule format through at least 2029.
