Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck is expected to start for the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL Hall of Fame game on Thursday evening. Beck will have a large audience for the game, which is the return of football even if it is just the preseason. Beck transferred to the Miami Hurricanes after the conclusion of the 2024 season, and the quarterback now finds himself with a golden opportunity prior to his rookie season in Arizona.
Beck was excellent throughout his time at Georgia and Miami from 2020-2025. The former Bulldog spent five total seasons in Athens, and Beck won back-to-back national championships at Georgia in 2021 and 2022 while playing behind legendary Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett. Beck led the Hurricanes to a national championship appearance
during his final season on the collegiate level and the rookie will look to shine as the Cardinals’ starting quarterback on Thursday evening.
Beck recorded 11,725 yards and 88 total touchdowns across his six seasons at Georgia and Miami. The quarterback begins his NFL career with a massive amount of collegiate experience under his belt, but the rookie could still face growing pains on Thursday against the Carolina Panthers. Beck will be faced with a true test against a talented Panthers defense. The rookie will hope to make a strong impressin with a promising performance.
Beck is expected to compete with veteran quarterbacks Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew as the season goes on and could start a game later in the year. The former Georgia quarterback was a star during his time in Athens, and Beck will look to dominate in his first NFL preseason start on Thursday night.
